Saskatchewan’s First Cold War Uranium Mine was written by Dr. Laurier Schramm, President of the Saskatchewan Research Centre (SRC). It is based on the book “The Nicholson Mine. Saskatchewan’s First Cold War Uranium Mine” which was co-authored by Dr. Schramm and Patty Ogilvie-Evans, Geoscientist (SRC). The mine was about 12 km (7.5 mi) SSE from the mining town in which I lived the first two years of my life – Eldorado. This town is no longer in existence. Uranium City is as a Northern settlement and is about 8 km (5 mi) WNW of Eldorado. The Nicholson Mine had stopped operating a few years before I was born.
